This is Viggo. He is a ~4 year old neutered male Great Pyrenees. My partner and I adopted him 2 months ago from a shelter in Gainesville, Georgia after he was turned in as a stray. His history is unknown to us, but have grown to love him very dearly during his time with us. He loves to be a couch potato, but also enjoys our walks greatly. He has some resource guarding issues that we have been trying to work through. Sometimes during a walk he will find something on the ground and become fixated on it, but can usually be redirected with treats. He is very food motivated, which is what has made it a challenge for us to to deal with his resource guarding in our tiny apartment. I think in the right situation, ideally where he could be kept away from human food and potentially put outside or in another room during meal times, he could thrive. He is such a sweet dog and I wish that we were in a better situation to be able to work with him. He knows basic commands such as sit and lay down, and loves to sleep in in the mornings. He is up to date on vaccines and was recently neutered. He came into the shelter Heartworm positive, but has received his treatment infections at this point. Please reach out if you think that you might have the right situation for Viggo, I would love to share more information about him.
