We tried to rename him, but we still call him his original name when he came to us. Spicy Enchilada. Spicy is no longer spicy and is quite a nice cat. He came to us a couple of years ago as a stray boy living in a parking lot, so we thought he would be happiest as a barn/outside cat, so he lived at a farm with many cats. He started getting bullied by a few cats that pushed him away and he went missing for a few months. When he returned, he was skinny and practically jumped in my arms for help. He was painful when he ate and we quickly got him into the vet for a dental cleaning. He ended up having a fractured canine tooth, so that was removed, and he felt so much better afterwards. We checked his bloodwork and organ functions and it appears the outdoor life is just not for him. He ended up getting a second dental surgery a month later to remove more teeth and was diagnosed with stomatitis. His vet said his bottom front teeth and gums looked healthy and in good shape so there was no need to pull those teeth. Spicy purrs so loud, will come up and head butt you, begging for you to pick him up and to snuggle. He will fall asleep in my lap, making biscuits, and I think he will make a wonderful indoor kitty. He is great about using the litter box, loves canned food only (he likes when you make it into a soup so it's easiest for him to eat), and he is gaining weight and looking much better. He begs for head bonks and pets. For now, he is on daily medication as he heals from his dental surgery, but we are hopeful that he will be off medication when he recovers. His new owner will have to keep an eye on his mouth and get him to the vet if he has any issues. Spicy is about 8 yrs old. He is microchipped, neutered, current on vaccinations, dewormed, and tested negative for FeLV/FIV. He is a handsome gray and white kitty with green eyes. Please give Spicy a chance and complete an application at rescueangelssomd.com. His foster mom would love to talk to you about him and see if he would be a good fit for you. We love Spicy.
