About Copper

Copper just turned one this week. My son purchased him as a puppy in early winter and was unable to care for him. I have been caring for him since. He has not been neutered as the vet told us they recommend waiting until dog is a year if able. We made sure he received his puppy shots. I am not able to continue to care for Copper due to life circumstances. We love him very much and want him to have the best life. He has done well with kids. I have a 5 year old, 11 year old and teenagers that he is around regularly. Up until a month ago I was running an in home daycare and he was used to being around infants and toddlers. I have an older female dog that he has grown up around and does well with. I feel he would do better in a home with another dog that could match his puppy energy. He is very smart and listens to basic commands. He is starting to act protective if someone comes to the door or he sees any dog or human walking by. He needs further training for this and more socialization than I have been able to give.
