About Maxx

This sweet guy came to us when he was 16 months. He's now 3 yrs & 3 mos. He was energetic and could challenge our other dog who was running me ragged. He was adopted from Those Left Behind in Las Vegas. We were told he may have been on the street for a while, but the rescue wasn't sure. He nips but never did to me or my wife. He is EXTREMELY protective and on guard at all times. We've tried every type of training there is except for shock collars. We've literally spent thousands of dollars trying to modify his behavior. He barks at everything that moves. He constantly pulls even when short leashed. He is very, very smart but he refuses to respond to commands. He will not break focus. We've tried squirting him with water, he ignores it. We've tried treating him. He'll take the treat and re-focus on the object. He's charged at people regardless of situation. He's scratched 2 on the face. Last week he got past me and attached a delivery person and grabbed her jacket by the sleeve. Thank goodness no one has been hurt. Today I swatted him on the butt to get his attention away from a woman walking her dog past our house and he turned and bit my hand. We love him, but he's a law suit waiting to happen and we can not take that risk. He's been well fed and cared for. We've had DNA testing done and he's got 4 different types of Pit in him. We have full vet records and has been seen as recently as August.
