About Murphy

Murphy is a wonderful Border Collie/Red Heeler mix. We got Murphy from a breeder with the hopes of running her daily 10+ miles with my distance runner husband. Unfortunately, my husband had to relocate for work and poor Murphy is not able to work/run like she needs. She is easily trained and responds well to commands. However, she is an anxious pup, has nipped before, and is easily frightened. She needs way more attention and exercise than we can provide. She does well with known dogs and animals but she gets anxious and very protective of me (female adult) and despite loving her so much, it's just not fair to her to keep locking her in our bedroom for the day when we have guests and for her to not really have 'a job'. Murphy is equal parts submissive and alpha - with humans in authority, she is very submissive (we have had her since she was 12 weeks old and she has never been abused or physically disciplined!) but she barks at strangers aggressively and other dogs. It's time to find the right home for Murphy where she can put her natural instincts to work.
