About Fossi

Adoption Fee: 500
Australian Cattle Dog / Boxer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Outdoor enthusiasts and endurance athletes: This is your adventure partner! Shy guy Fossi was saved from the euthanasia list in New Mexico in April and arrived in WA at the end of September. He had completely shut down in the shelter environment, but%A0blossomed within days of settling into his%A0foster home. He is extremely curious, smart, and playful. Our best guess is he is between 3 and 5 years old. He has bonded to his foster parents quickly grows more affectionate by the day. He is a wonderful companion and wants to be a part of everything you do...whether that's running, cooking, going on errands in the car,%A0or napping. Fossi will need a patient forever family, ideally with herding dog experience. It is likely he was abused and his adopters will need to take introductions slowly with this good%A0boy's past trauma in mind. While his foster dad immediately gained his trust, most men are scary to Fossi upon first meeting.%A0 He adores other dogs but can get overexcited when another dog is on leash, so his adopters will need to being willing to work with him on his fear and stress response. He has been evaluated by a professional trainer and has a management and training plan in place that we hope his adoptive family could continue. He has great leash manners%A0and LOVES going for walks and runs. His best life is with someone who works from home or is home often,%A0super active, and can provide him with lots of mental and physical stimulation. He%A0would thrive on a farm or with someone who spends their non-work hours outside and moving. We think he would%A0enjoy training or agility classes.%A0He would also really love%A0a dog sibling or siblings to show him the ropes in his new home!! His favorite thing is to snuggle up right next to his foster sister, a ten-pound mini dachshund. Kids are currently unknown. He has also not been cat-tested, but shows an interest in chasing small animals; outdoor cats, squirrels, chipmunks, etc.%A0 Apply to meet this silly, resilient, athletic red heeler.%A0 Adoption fee $500.%A0
