About Peanut

NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. Peanut can only be transferred to a professional. Trainer, rescue, behaviorist, etc. Peanut was originally adopted out to a single older woman 3 years ago. She was timid & shy. She was returned 7 months ago for being less manageable. She had to be sedated just to have her nails cut & the owner could no longer afford her care. After 7 months, I still cannot touch, pet or pick her up. She will bite. She has bitten me twice just for walking to close to her. She seems to have a fear of hands but rubs against my foot to be petted. She cannot safely be adopted out with her current behaviour issues. She is otherwise happy & even takes treats from me gently. She just wont allow anyone to touch her. She has coexisted with several other small dogs without incident as long as they leave her alone. She gets very upset if the other dogs play to rough and will bark at them. No experience with cats. My small rescue does not have the funds to help her through her trauma. She needs a professional to help her. If she cannot find help, she will have to be euthanized. I do not take that decision lightly, which is why I am begging for help. Please, no negativity.
