About Princess

Adoption Fee: $250.00
Siamese / Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Named Princess by her former owner, this teenager lived a life that was not that of a princess up and until her rescue in April of this year. Princess was one of two free kittens given to her former owner. Neither she nor the other kitten received any vetting and neither were fixed the result being a litter of five born to young parents. I first became aware of Princess' plight in March of this year, when her former mom posted in animal group requesting help for Princess and her kittens. I offered assistance and after quite some back and forth her mom allowed me to take Princess and her five kittens to my vet to be examined. My vet determined that Princess' inability to nurse at times was due to a lack of nutrition as Princess was barely being fed enough daily to sustain herself much less herself and her nursing kittens. Although her mom refused to sign Princess over to me, she accepted both canned and dry food formulated for nursing mothers and infant kittens from me and promised to better feed Princess. As her mom had friended me on Facebook, I monitored her posts and was quick to respond when she asked for assistance. Ultimately on Friday, April 18th, I reached out to Princess' mom after seeing a post where she was attempting to sell Princess and her kittens as she needed money. I agreed to her requested price and on Saturday, April 19th, Princess and her brood became my rescues. Poor Princess was merely skin and bones, her hips sunken yet she was a loving and doting mom to her very hungry kitten crew. In the beginning she was disinclined to leave them and I was obliged to remove her from their private room to replenish her sustenance without the kittens nursing. Doing so greatly helped her gain some pounds and afforded her some respite, although she was also eager to return to her littles. As her kittens grew they quickly started to catch up to her in size. Aged estimated to be just under a year old initially, she is now just over a year old. Her coat is an amalgam of spots and stripes in hues of gray and cream with no distinct pattern. While still slender and long and lithe, she has gained weight and her moth eaten coat has filled in and softened. Princess appears to be a Domestic Mix but has the look of and characteristics of a Siamese. She is super sweet and loves to make air biscuits. When in need of attention she will shadow you, following behind you until you provide her with attention. Although a youngster, she is quite reserved and while playful she is very reserved in her manner of play. Princess has been spayed, has tested negative for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus, been dewormed and treated for fleas and has been microchipped. An absolute love, she is in search of a home where she will be a princess. If you are interested in this gorgeous girl becoming a member of your kingdom, please feel free to reach out to me. I do when possible like to receive a vet reference for potential adopters.
