About Merriwick

This gorgeous lady is Merriwick and while she is not one of the Merriwicks of Grey House, she is named after them. Rescued from the streets of Chesterfield, Virginia in the summer of 2020, with three tiny kittens in tow, Merriwick is age estimated to be between 6 to 7 years old and appears to be a Maine Coon/Domestic Mix. Her right eye was permanently damaged while she was a homeless kitty surviving by begging for and scavenging for food for her multiple litters of kittens. My vets have determined that her injured eye likely has little to no vision but is not painful or bothersome to her. She currently lives with me and my personal cats and dogs and my other rescues kitties who are awaiting adoption. Merriwick enjoys the company of other kitties and doggies as long as they are not too rambunctious. While she happily snuggles my rescue kittens, she does become fussy when they are wildly playing and run in to her. Merriwick will play with toys and feather wands as long as other kitties do not overwhelm her with their zealousness. Sunbeam and window ledge lounging as well as kitty condo lounging are her absolute favorite pastimes. She enjoys being petted but can be startled when approach from her blind side. Her coat is super soft and fluffy and she has precious toe and ear tufts. Merriwick has been spayed, combo tested negative for both feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus, is rabies and distemper vaccinated and is microchipped. This beautiful kitty girl is hoping to find a laidback home where she can preen in all her regalness after noshing on her favorite varieties of canned Fancy Feast. A super sweet and dear girl who will follow her person in a doglike fashion, she will likely be shy initially in her new home as she gets her bearings.
