LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Lots of love and attention HIGHLIGHTS: Super sweet and friendly girl! This sweet girl was owner surrendered by her mama who is leaving the country and unable to take her along. Baby is a very sweet, friendly, and happy girl! She loves everyone, human or dog, and even cats. Baby is a love bug and enjoys being with her person. She is very good in the car and loves to go for car rides and makes friends wherever she goes. Baby loves sleeping in the big bed with her foster mom and fur siblings. She has a favorite doughnut bed that she will sleep in during the day if she does not have a lap to curl up on. Baby gets along with all of the dogs in her foster home and would be happy with a doggy friend, but probably would be okay as an only as long as she has lots of time to spend with her person. She has started to play with the other small pups in her foster home. We were told that she is good with cats and based on her personality we think she would be good with older kids too. Baby enjoys being outside with her people exploring the yard and soaking up the sunshine. A fenced yard is preferable but not required, she also enjoys going for walks with her leash and harness! She seems to be house trained but if she's left alone for 4 to 5 hours and can't get outside, she will use a pee pad. Baby loves treat time and will stand on her back legs and use her front paws to beg for treats. That said, she is a little fluffy and could stand to lose some weight. Her owner had mentioned that she had some different issues so we took her to the vet first thing for a full checkup. Besides needing a dental, Baby was diagnosed with a thyroid issue and has been put on meds. We have seen an obvious change in her now that she's getting the medication that she needs. She has become a very happy and playful girl! She does have canine alopecia that is likely due to her thyroid. This should correct itself over time now that she is on medication. The average cost of her medicine (Thyroxine - 0.1mg) is $25 a month. Baby needs to be seen on or around 10/26/23 for a follow-up thyroid recheck with our vet. She also has a collapsing trachea but does not display any symptoms. Baby is up to date on shots, is spayed, has had a dental, has been fecal and heartworm tested, is heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit. We are not always able to respond to every application.
