Meet Tucker, a stunningly handsome three-year-old, 78 lb. purebred Golden Retriever. He was purchased from a breeder as a puppy but his family can no longer keep him as they're expecting their second baby soon. While this decision is difficult for them, they know that Tucker deserves more than they can give so he's in search of a new happily furever after. Like most goldens, this boy just LOVES love - pets, cuddles, belly rubs, kisses, you name it and he'll deliver! He loves being around people and will snuggle up right alongside you. Tucker would live on your lap if you'd let him. Sure, he's nearly 80 lbs. but that doesn't stop him from getting every ounce of affection and attention you have to offer. He is extremely sweet, submissive with other animals, and very patient with children of all ages. He's good with other dogs but very playful so he needs a dog that will be on the same energy level. Tucker also really zoomies and his toys. He's truly the best of both worlds. His family has invested a lot of time into training him. He's house/crate trained and knows four commands: sit, down, leave it, and come'|he will do anything for a treat! He has never shown any guarding or aggressive behaviors. Aside from stealing and trying to eat the occasional sock or paper towel, Tucker doesn't chew anything he's not supposed to. He does pull on the leash sometimes and gets super excited when new people come over, but he calms down after a few minutes. Tucker would be absolutely thrilled to go to a home with a fenced yard! One thing that is important to note is that Tucker has a sensitive stomach. He had a bacterial infection in his belly a few years ago, which was determined to be the root cause of his gut issues. He eats a special food that was recommended by the vet and is given probiotics and fish oil for his belly and coat. Having a Golden Retriever is a big financial commitment as they require daily grooming, not to mention that his specialty food is costly ($125/month) so please only apply if you have the means to. His adoption fee is $400 and Tucker is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative. With his adoption, his family has been kind enough to pass along all of his things.
