*TO SUBMIT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION GO TO WWW.APLACEOFHOPERESCUE.COM* ANDY is a 1 year old, 9.6 pound Chihuahua mix pup LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Only dog, fenced yard, some basic training. HIGHLIGHTS: Feisty and fun! Andy's owners were moving and unable to keep him. They had tried to rehome him themselves and felt they were running out of options. So they called a vet office to have him euthanized. Luckily that vet happened to be our vet and they called us instead. Andy is a sweet boy with people. He loves to be held and petted and enjoys attention. He is very active and loves to play with toys and people. At night he would prefer to snuggle up with his person, but he will also sleep in a dog bed. Andy likely has not had much in the way of training or socializing. Andy does not play well with other dogs. He seems to want to but then he is a jerk to them and growls, chases, and bites at them. So it would be best if he were in a home as an only dog. He has not been tested around cats and should not go to a home with kids. Andy is not housebroken and does not know how to use a doggie door so he will need somebody to work with him on that. A fenced yard would be best for him because he thinks he is a big dog and probably wouldn't hesitate to take off after somebody or something if he had the opportunity. Andy is a cute pup though and he had do the cutest little prance and knows he's adorable! He is the kind of dog that will wrap you around his little paw in no time, but he needs an owner who can teach him the basics! Andy has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots including bordetella, is neutered, fecal tested, is heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. When he had his neuter we also had his dew claws removed. Andy is ready to find his forever home! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit. We are not always able to respond to every application.
