Meet Valor !! He's doing so well!! Loosing all the weight and learning to be the best boy!! Someone come scoop up this handsome love bug! This sweet boy was born here in our rescue on Veterans Day which is how he got his name. He's such a sweet boy and is really feeling the loss of his adoptive mom that dumped him in a full shelter without tell us. Hopefully someone will chose to open their home to him so he can have a family that will repay his love and loyalty with a forever home. Valor is a male, 3 year old, Lab and pitbull mix. His mom was the sweetest tan pitbull and dad was a black lab. He weighed 87 pounds when he arrived and was severely overweight. With a proper diet and a few zoomies a day around the yard he's already almost back to his idea weight! (Check out his progress pics!) He would like everyone to know he's a handsome boy! He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines. He is Heartworm negative and on prevention. This guy is so sweet. If you want a dog that will follow you all around and adore you then it's him. He's been a very loving boy. He was shy at first but that fades away quickly. He likes to run and play and can have his wide open hyper moments but once in the house he plops down and hangs out. He's perfectly fine with being left home during a full work day. Valor has done well with other dogs. He's never met cats so we are unsure how he would do. He loves kids and grew up with them in his first home. He's kind of a scaredy-cat. An oversized baby boy with a big heart. Sometimes when he's really excited he forgets and jumps up on people. He's getting better but still has his moments. He is fully potty trained. He's been great on car rides and has been kind enough to jump in when asked so we don't have to lift him. He is very strong on the leash and pulls when excited but does settle after a few minutes. He's also doing well with crate training. He was whiny at first but not anymore. If you toss a treat in he goes right in. The longer he stays with you the more he figures out the routine and settles in. Valor has a medium energy level. He is a good mix of playful and relaxed. He has his spunky moments but it's not constant. He is very treat motivated and likes you to chase him around the yard to play. He loves to chase a toy you throw and then he plays keep away from you with it. He's fairly easy to exercise and will zoomie around the yard on his own. He has not had any issues sharing food, treats or toys with people or other dogs. He loves food and treats and is very motivated to learn when treats are involved. He knows the commands sit, lay, kennel and outside. This sweet boy is so deserving of a committed family. He's such a big baby with a huge heart full of love to repay you with. z%8FVet and home checks required. z%8FNo apartments Located in Hampton VA. z%8F(He will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) '%BC%8F'%BC%8FDO NOT APPLY IF YOU RENT AND HAVENT ALREADY ASKED YOUR LANDLORD IF YOU CAN OWN A PITBULL TYPE BREED unfortunately they are not allowed in most rental situations. '%BC%8F'%BC%8F '%BC%8FPlease message [email protected] directly with questions or to get an application. '%BC%8F
