About Blu

American Staffordshire Terrier mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Blu was found on the streets of Houston, Texas on 8/11/23 rummaging in trash looking for food.B Bio below: Age: 13 Months (estimated DOB 8/11/22) Weight: 45 lbs Sex: Female Neuter & Spay Status: Spayed Microchipped: Yes Vet Records Available: Yes Coat Color: Gray Eye Color: Green Cat Tested: No Child-Tested: No Vaccinations Current: Yes, through Aug 2024 Small Dog Tested: Yes Large Dog Tested: Yes (does great at the dog park) Temperament: Loving, gentle, curious, intelligent, stealthy, protective, loyal, alert, active, with high trainability She was not microchipped or spayed. We found her on the streets and refused to leave her. We took her in and have been treating her like our own with the hopes of finding her a permanent home and family and getting her the medical care she needed. We treated the trauma wounds she endured before we found her. Her trauma wounds are now healed. We are not affiliated with any rescue and doing this out of our love for animals. Houston is in a crisis at the moment and we have a human problem, not an animal problem. We love animals and our dog parents and wanted to help this beautiful girl. Blu is highly intelligent and this requires her to be trained, stimulated, and exercised daily otherwise she will become bored. We do not know Blu's history before we found her, but we do not think she was socialized as a young puppy. She does get anxious in large crowds with loud noises (we took her a sports bar where it was semi-loud with a lot of people and did not do well). Blu is not cat or child-tested because we do not have cats in the home. Blu is small-dog tested and does great. She sleeps, eats, and plays with the existing small dogs in the home. Blu has been exposed to dogs her size in the park and has shown no signs of aggression or dominance. Blu just wants to be loved and she deserves the best. She would do great with a family as a first dog or second dog. Since the vet estimates Blu to be 13 months she is still considered a puppy and naturally has puppy energy. Blu is available for transport to her new potential home anywhere. I am from Pittsburgh, PA and would be willing to transport her to Pittsburgh. We are not asking for a large donation, but if you would like to contribute a larger donation for her medical care please feel free. However, this is not required. Due her to breed, we will vet people who show interest in her. She has been through a lot already and we want the best possible outcome for her.
