It's ghastly that 2-year-old GASPER (A2087915) hasn't been adopted yet. Then, again, he just became available for adoption fairly recently. On June 6, he was surrendered to the East Valley Animal Shelter, Van Nuys, CA, along with a female housemate, and both labeled as 'PDA' (Potentially Dangerous Animal) because a neighbor accused them of killing their cat. Both dogs were put in Isolation kennels (the female delivered puppies in the kennel) while a court case was pending. I do not know the outcome of that case, but both dogs are outside in the general kennels (the puppies were rescued) and waiting for new families to adopt them. GASPER is one of the handsomest dogs. He's also one of the gentlest, and he's easy to handle. He is kenneled with another dog, and he hasn't displayed any negative behavior when other dogs are in the vicinity. I don't know how he would be around a cat. If you or someone you know is looking for a loving and lovable indoor companion (all pets should be allowed indoors), head on over to the shelter and ask to meet GASPER. And if you're so inclined, meet NUGGET (#A2087912), too (she was the housemate). I haven't met her yet, but other handlers have nothing but nice things to say about her. East Valley Animal Shelter 14409 Vanowen St., Van Nuys, CA OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Tues-Fri 8-5; Sat & Sun 11-5; closed Mon.
