About Luddy

Adoption Fee: $250
German Shepherd mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Update on Luddy: FOSTER NEEDED!!! Luddy weighs 77 pounds (approximate ideal weight per vet) and weighed only 40lbs when coming to the rescue when he was rescued off the chain. He is doing fantastic with being an indoor doggie. He has learned to go potty outside and not inside, he sleeps really well in his crate or occasionally in the bed or couch with his previous foster. He walks really well on the leash now too and loves to go on adventures, explore, and hiking trips! He pulls slightly but is learning and doing very well! He is between 2-3 years old. Luddy needs a new foster as soon as possible. If you can foster, Southern Paws Animal Rescue will supply EVERYTHING Luddy needs. It won't cost you a dime! Just give him a safe place to stay while he waits for his forever family to find him. He has began heartworm treatment, so he will need to stay inside the home except for on leash potty walks, because the heat will make him feel bad. He will need to be leash walked only for the next seven weeks due to finishing his heartworm treatment. Adoption fee covers 100 % of vetting up to adoption and heartworm treatment. Adoption will be finalized after heartworm negative results if fostering to adopt. Due to limited number of fosters, Luddy is being fostered with several other foster dogs of all sizes and we are looking to spread these fosters out to more foster homes where they can get more individualized attention. Cats are a little too interesting to Luddy, so a home without cats would be best for him. Luddy would be best in a home with larger female dogs or as an only pet. If you can foster this precious boy, or would like to give him a forever home, please call/text 205-239-1415 or email [email protected] Luddy is an available through Southern Paws Animal Rescue, Alabama in Northport.
