About Evelyn

Evie (short for Evelyn) is a laid back gal with a big heart. In one of the first sightings of Evie, she crossed a street and wandered up to the feeding area of a small colony of cats on a city block, whimpering and clearly weak, and sporting a cute manx tail. She seemed to be a nursing mother, but there were no signs of her kittens at that point. She must have needed nourishment for nursing, because even with her small frame she could bring out a tiger-like growl when she needed to protect her food source. She seemed to be living in an alley full of trees and brush. Fast forward 3 months: Evie and her one kitten have been trapped and relocated to a foster setting. Evie is enjoying an indoor-outdoor life and receives daily naps, treats and love. Her kitten is on an adoption path. Meanwhile, Evie lounges around and may jump in your lap, accept cuddles and is even good with being picked up - all with happy purrs. Evie's post-nap stretches could be taught in yoga classes. Evie is a doll, and would do well in an indoor-at-night / outdoor-at-day setting. She loves frequent human contact. She does get bold and territorial with other cats, but overall she's a cutie. It's so great to see a young outdoor community cat who probably spent her life living in difficult circumstances, adapt so quickly to human contact, love and protection. Evie needs someone with a heart as big as hers.
