About Karen

Karen is a 3-year-old spayed Chihuahua mix with a Cherry Eye in her right eye that does not currently cause any issues. She is shy and nervous around new people, requiring time to warm up. Once she feels comfortable, she offers her person unconditional love. Karen comes from a hoarding situation and has limited social skills, but we have been working diligently to build her confidence. She needs a patient adopter who can provide lots of love to help her adapt and blossom into the wonderful dog she is. Karen also thrives with the companionship of another dog, making her an excellent companion if your dog is looking for a best friend. She is crate trained, though she may bark initially before settling down. Due to her nervous nature and tendency to bark, apartment living is not ideal for her. Karen will walk on a leash for someone she trusts but will not allow strangers to walk her. She is housetrained but may have occasional accidents if left in her crate for too long.
