About Artie

Hello world! Meet Artie - a goofy boy looking for his forever home! We found this guy abandoned and running across a six lane boulevard before scooping him up to keep him safe. Poor thing was malnourished, covered in fleas, and had a horrible staph infection. After reporting him found, no one came to claim him, so we decided to rehab him with our vet and trainer, and find him his forever home to keep him out of the shelters. Now fully healed and trained, this guy is ready for his new home! He has undergone extensive training with a professional trainer and is house broken, fully leash trained, crate and command trained. We cannot keep him due to financial constraints as we already have another dog, and our landlord will not let us keep him. While we can't bear to bring him to a shelter now, we're being pushed into a corner in terms of options and time. Due to severe neglect in his past, Artie is shy at first with strangers and will need patience as he opens up. He will need a knowledgable owner who will commit to continuing his training, and make sure that he is set up for success. Once trust is established, this boy is as goofy and playful as it gets. He loves belly rubs and head scratches. He loves chewing on his bone at your feet, and meal time is his favorite! Artie is rather aloof and entertains himself very easily. With a slow introduction, he and our other 50lb dog have gotten along great! But he has shown reactivity towards other dogs, so he would thrive in a home without any other animals. This guy should be in a home with adults only. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt this fella will get two complimentary training classes (virtual or in-person) with our professional trainer to ensure a smooth and easy transition for Artie.
