About Maddock

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 1. Needs a fully fenced yard. 2. Kids should be 10 or older. 1 year old male Poodle/Dachshund mix, about 16 pounds. Cayman and his siblings were surrendered together along with Butterscotch. Maddock is a sweet, quiet boy who is the most outgoing of the group. He gets along with dogs, but cats are unknown. He does not have much in the way of leash skills or everyday life skills, but as he grows more comfortable, we are seeing him get more interested in what's going on in the home. He was not the best for grooming but figured it out with a bit of coaching from the groomer. He is crate trained and would do best in a home with a fenced yard and older children. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
