About Dayna

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 10-month-old female Poodle mix, about 12 pounds. Meet Dayna, deceptively, cute, often naughty! Because she's a puppy of less than a year, you will need to keep an eye on her! She will steal socks. She will steal shoes. She will steal lip gloss, and she will chew on all these things. She will also steal your heart! She likes stimulation and attention, but even with those things she can get herself into mischief. Beware she can jump pretty easily up onto things. Also, she can be somewhat reactive (barking, pulling on the leash, violently) toward other dogs when out on walks but she has been great with all of the dogs in her foster home. She can be redirected with a quick tug and some verbal queuing. She also likes a good cuddle and belly rub after a long walk. The good news is, she's food motivated, and that means she's trainable. She definitely needs walks twice a day for consistency with potty training and will need crate training for assistance in that measure. She has a penchant for going number two on hard surfaces: asphalt, sidewalks, driveways�'�|inside. She just doesn't prefer grass. It is unknown if Dayna is good with cats. She will need to be groomed every 6-8 weeks to keep her hair tidy and free of matting. If you're willing to provide the training, time consistency and attention, Dayna might be a good fit for you and/or your family. Adoption contract and fee applies. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
