About Bullet

American Bulldog / American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

-- FOSTER NEEDED! -- Bullet was found running in the middle of a NC roadway dragging a rope that he was obviously tied to outside. He managed to escape what was clearly very poor and neglectful living conditions based on the scars all over his body and the fact that he was dragging a rope, only to find himself timestamped for euthanasia at the local shelter. Talk about going from bad to worse! Here he must've been so excited to have escaped those horrible living conditions only to almost end up dead anyway. :,-( Because he's lived his life outside, he was obviously not acclimating well to a shelter environment (which is stressful to even the most well-adjusted dogs) and so because he began to deteriorate, he was selected for euthanasia. We were able to pull him from the shelter before that happened, however, with no foster home to send him to, now poor Bullet is in boarding where he continues to be very stressed and anxious. We can only help pets like Bullet if we can get fosters or adopters to step up. Please help us get him out of boarding and into a home environment where we can assess who this pup really is and prepare him to be as adoptable as possible! He is apx 65 lbs., estimated to be btwn 3-5 years old. He seems to want to play with other dogs, but likely does not know how. Dogs that have been kept tied primarily outside never learned how to properly socialize or engage with other dogs. Because they're tied, they also need to be self protective/defensive. So a dog like bullet is reactive to other dogs when he feels vulnerable (in a kennel, behind a fence, etc.) but when he sees/is near other dogs on a leash, he gets happy-excited and play bows. So there's a good possibility that he will enjoy the company of other social dogs. But this is why we need a foster - to help us find all of this out! So, if you or someone you know are interested in adopting or fostering Bullet. Please contact KENNEDY by email or text at (802)673-9026. [NOTE: Bullet is currently being boarded in the South. Transport will be scheduled for him to be brought to the Northeastern states for serious adopters only.]
