About Big Red

Big Red is a super sweet and friendly boy. He loves attention and being pet, and he'll give you kisses in return. He'll stay calmly by your side for as long as you'll pet him. He's got a lot of love to give! He's on the calmer side, with a lower energy level. He doesn't need much exercise to make him happy! He's great at walking on a leash, and he's a total gentleman to take out for a walk. He even seems to be potty trained already! He takes treats gently from your hand, but he hasn't gotten the hang of any tricks yet. He'll work on it! He does get along well with other dogs, and lived well with them in a previous short term foster home. Big Red is a 2YO Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who came into the shelter as a stray on 7/14/23. He's currently working on the 'big' part of his name and is being fed multiple times a day to get up to a healthier weight.
