About Cooper

Adoption Fee: $200
German Shepherd mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

ң Cooper went on a trial visit for a week and did amazing!! Unfortunately, it wasn't the right time for the family to adopt but he would be the one if they could. If you have been on the fence about this sweet boy, now is the time to act! ң '%BC%8F Cooper has been with us in rescue since February! %A4 He deserves to find his forever family! ٴ '%BC%8F Cooper is a very sweet approximately 3 year old neutered male shepherd mix in Pensacola, FL. He is microchipped, heartworm negative and up-to-date on vaccinations. Cooper is slightly smaller than a full GSD but he loves to play with the big dogs! He is medium energy and settles down quickly in the house. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. He loves to be brushed and give kisses! We learned on his trial visit that he also loves the beach! S Cooper is a little bit shy. He warms up quickly to women but men take a day or two longer. Just give him some time and space and he will come around. (Spoiler alert - he loves treats!! %A4) He is fine with older children but has not been around little kids or babies. He does get excited when he's happy to see you and occasionally forgets that jumping is bad manners, so he may not be a great fit with small children or people with balance issues. Cooper is VERY interested in the resident cat. He just can't seem to get over how fun it is to chase her! To be safe, Cooper should go to a home without cats or chickens. Cooper likes dogs and is generally good around them. He does try to initiate play a little awkwardly but isn't too rough. He can be pushy, particularly going through doorways, which is rude and may cause some hard feelings with a less tolerant dog. He does not seem to be possessive of bones or toys. Cooper should be fed separately from other dogs or in his crate. Cooper's adoption fee is $200, which contributes to his vetting and rescue costs.
