About Memphis (Gate)

Hello! My name is Gate or as my foster folks call me, Memphis! That is where I am from. I was saved from euthanasia at Memphis Animal Services (MAS). Have you checked out my adorable photos yet? Notice anything? That's right! My favorite thing in the whole wide world besides my foster-peeps is my spikey blue ball. I am young and have great energy. I get really excited when I meet new people and bark REALLY BIG. But don't let that scare you away. While it's great for keeping burglars away, what they don't know is, I'm everyone's friend once I get a chance to meet them. I can be picky about treats but that is ok. I am also a great listener without them. If you adopt me and give me guidance, I'm all ears to listen to what you want me to know and do. This means treats or not, I will behave when you tell me to calm or do other things. I'm also up for learning new things with you! While I love riding in the car, I can become scared if we go to a public place like the hardware store. My fosters are trying to slowly figure out what may be scaring me. In the meantime, I am a great adventure-buddy if you would like to go on a hike or some other fun place. I have great energy to keep up and play. I love, love, love to play fetch! Did I mention my spikey blue ball? We can play with it for quite a while before I get tired. But if you want to stop, we can. I won't bug you over it. I'm also quite submissive so if one of the other puppies or fosters comes to take my ball, I'm cool with it. Who wouldn't love to share my ball!?!? I'm also passive with other dogs when it comes to food, other toys and attention. So please keep an eye on me so I don't get pushed around by other dogs we may be around. I may need someone to back me up from time to time. And throw my ball! Yay! Guess what? I recently found out that I also like orange, green and other colored balls. So much fun! Memphis is a one and a half (1.5) year old, 52 lb., Pit/Shepherd mix. He is crate and potty-trained. He is also heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped.
