About Max

Max is a 2-year-old male poodle mix (Dr. thinks Terrier). I adopted him from the shelter 3 months ago and I'm realizing that I cannot care for his high behavioral needs. Yet, he is so sweet and loving I cannot bring him back to the shelter to sit in a cage. I have two cats in the home and Max takes every opportunity to chase them. They have been locked in rooms since the dog has been here. Max also bit my adult daughter. He needs to sleep in his crate at night because he gets a little grumpy before sleep and snapped at me once. He loves his toys. He mouths but if you redirect him to chew a toy he does well. Max came to me with no training, but he has learned lots since being here. He loves his humans and follows me from room to room in the home. He is a great companion dog. Max has been okay with other dogs in the past but lately is parking uncontrollably when seeing dogs while walking. Max needs an experienced owner.
