About Koda

Koda was a stray that wandered up to a house that was being built, no one was living there yet. He decided that was going to be the place he wanted to hang out at. When the homeowners found that he was staying around, they left food and water and kept an eye on him through cameras. Koda sleeps on the back porch in the morning and the front when the sun moves to the back side. He is a little nervous when new people approach, but quickly warms up. Using a leash was new so he will need some training with that, he would likely benefit from starting with a harness. Koda had a home, at some point. He is healthy, heartworm negative and a sweet boy. He was a bit nervous while at the vet's with other dogs, so he may not have had a lot of prior exposure to them. He is an Australian Cattle Dog, this breed is a 'working breed' and generally does best with an active family and someone who knows the breed. He is approximately 8 months old, weighs 34 lbs, has been vaccinated, has started on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, will be neutered and microchipped. For Pet's Sake Rescue transports animals to other states with better adoption potential. Our goal is to keep animals alive and out of kennels into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Each animal is quarantined and vetted during their time in our care. Each adopted pet is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and has current flea treatment unless otherwise noted.
