About Icy

Hi, I'm Icy, a 2-year-old, 60-pound, tan and white Pit Bull mix. I'm clearly a posh gal who will play dress up with you! Do you like my sunglasses? I'm a sweet and loyal girl who loves to cuddle and nap. But I'm also spunky and fun! I am learning to swim and caught on after just a few tries in the pool. I would do well in a forever home with an active family who will take me on adventures like walks, runs or maybe even hikes. I love being with people. I also enjoy playing with other dogs so much! I enjoy roughhousing with my foster brother. He likes to nip my legs so I will chase him. We will run around in the backyard and wrestle. But don't worry, I take corrections very well and give dogs space if they don't want to play with me like he does. I do well with cats and don't pay them much attention other than an occasional nose-to-nose boop to say hello. I am a tall gal but I know my size and am careful with my space. I don't run into or jump up on people. While I enjoy being active, I also calm well and love to snuggle with people. I will rest my head on your lap in the evenings and help you relax while you watch TV. I'm spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I walk well on leash and am housebroken. I haven't had a single accident in my foster home. Yay! I am very gentle when taking treats and know how to sit on command. I can be weary of men and will growl at them at first, but I will not try to hurt them. I will take treats from them right after a good growl. Give me a minute to sniff them out and once I know they won't hurt me, we will be best friends! My fosters are working to socialize me and build trust in men in general. This means yummy treats, so I don't mind. And I'm getting really good at it! I was found as a stray and taken to Memphis Animal Services. Without an adopter, I was scheduled for euthanasia. Fortunately, I was saved by my rescue before I was put down. Now I'm looking for a forever home who will keep me safe and loved. I'm being fostered in Franklin, TN, but I can be transported to other states if we're a match. If you think I'm the one for you, please fill out an adoption application.
