Channel was born in the Korean meat farm spending her early life in a small cage without any interaction or people attention, sometimes with very little food or water. Her only time out of the cage was for it to be cleaned. Zero puppy play time. Lucky for Channel and her sibling,s a dog rescue volunteer bartered to get her away from her dreadful environment and fate. At 5 months old, she didn't know it, but she was saved! Her shelter volunteers and foster mom have worked with Channel, teaching her to 'be a puppy', as well as the basics of how to be a happy, carefree, family dog. Channel continues to be socialized, talking several walks daily- meeting new people and dogs. She is an alert pup, watching everything that moves, including a leaf blowing in the wind ~ thinking it might be something fun to chomp on. She especially likes her 'long leash' time where she can run more freely to chase balls or play with her dog friends. Channel is food/treat motivated, which works very well with her training. She is currently learning, sit, stay, come, and fetch! We are looking for a family that understands Channel's past and has patience enough for her to slowly become your best friend. She is very timid and cautious around men; it would take several months for her to be comfortable with men; however, she is very sweet with people she is knows. Channel will need the family who also can go through training to help her with separation anxiety, this poor puppy really missing her people and hates to stay alone. Channel is looking for her forever home - a patient quiet home, allowing her enough time to work through her adjustment period and build her confidence. She would love it if you had a fenced in backyard for her to play but is also content leash walking with you. She likes to exercise! Channel is potty trained, although still out of excitement (or anxiety) she may let out a small pee, especially when 'her person' returns home after being away. She knows to P&P outside. She is 8-months-old now, just under 30 lbs (she is fully grown). Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. A healthy pup.
