About Hank

This is Hank!! I found on a street in Cleveland looking for help. His owners never claimed him or bothered looking for him. He was so afraid, anxious and thin. After being with us it's easy to see that he spent most of his life indoors or crated. He is a little under 2 yrs old according to the vet, all black beautiful shepherd, about 65 pounds. I had him neutered and is very healthy. This boy is stunning, very playful, very high energy, loyal, and goofy. His personality is so wonderful, so sweet and affectionate. Hank loves to run and play fetch, so a fenced in yard is necessary by for Hank. His owner needs to be active and energetic to match Hanks energy and be committed to a few hours of exercise a day no matter the weather. He is active, young, playful and rarely lay's around. He loves long walks, car rides, and other dogs! He would definitely need to have a buddy to run around with. Hank needs an owner that is not gone long hours, he has a little anxiety when you are not around but his anxiety is definitely lessening as we work through it, but still an issue. Hank is not the type of dog to sit around, he loves his owner and is a companion that wants to go on adventures! Someone that works from home would be ideal for Hank. We have found out Hank has food and environmental allergies. We are still working through finding him a food he will eat so for now we have been cooking for him, meat and rice. We are working on his food allergies trying to eliminate what he is allergic to but he is also on an allergy pill that costs about 80.00 monthly. His allergies are not severe, mostly itching with dry skin. I know there are not many people willing to adopt a dog with allergies and separation anxiety, but I'm keeping faith that there is just one good family out there willing to make him a part of the family despite his issues. I feel Hank is not progressing the way he should being with me, I am dealing with cancer treatments and he needs so much more than I can give him. He is a very sweet and happy boy despite his past. It's like he's experiencing life for the first time after his owners just let him go not caring what happened to him. Hank needs a job! He is a working breed and definitely needs mind stimulation. I would love to see Hank living on a big piece of land so he can run and do zoomies and play as hard as he wants to. This dog will be for someone looking for a loyal loving companion who will expose him to different places, outdoors, and keep him mentally stimulated. Hank does bark at strangers due to still being somewhat fearful but once he meets you for 5 minutes he is a love bug! I have a great family helping me with Hank but I am look forward to finding him a perfect home, he deserves the very best. This dog is very special. Im asking someone that knows this breed and has a big heart because I really need help to give Hank happily.
