URGENT- EDINGURG, TX- SOUTHERN TIP OF TEXAS (TRANSPORT AVAILABLE TO QUALIFIED PARTIES)- FULL SHELTER ASKING FOR HELP TO FIND PLACEMENT FOR SHELTER FAVORITE, 'SPARKLE'. Please help us find a loving home or foster and or rescue asap for this adorable girl fondly named Princess Sparkle. She came to the Palm Valley Animal Society after her owners could no longer care for her. Sparkle is said to be 7 years young and still full of life and weighs a healthy 59 lbs. The shelter says Sparkle never says no to a tasty treat, although prefers to eat wet food with a fish or seafood flavor. No surprise, Sparkle is 'very treat motivated, understands commands like sit and paw, social'. We have video of her taking treats fairly gently, as well as wonderful video of her interacting with people. https://youtube.com/shorts/SzLcDyJUqgI?feature=share. In playgroup with others dogs, she was reported as 'Low energy, social, allows greets, seems tolerant, gives out good corrections, follows handlers tools, likes to explore, curious but no play, no issues in the yard'. She also had an overnight with a temporary foster who reported, 'She is house trained, stayed 8 hours in the house without using the restroom. Enjoyed riding in the car and bathing. She is laid back and enjoys being petted.' The shelter staff is more than happy to further discuss this wonderful girl, as they really want to see her find her forever home, or a foster and rescue. They can also tell you more about available transports if you are not local. Please note Princess does have some worn teeth and was found to be HW positive, but has been started on antibiotics and will be eligible for injections to treat this.
