I'm in an incredibly unfortunate situation. I had adopted a dog and we went on a trial period to see if we would match together. Unfortunately, we didn't seem to be the best fit so I had brought him back to the shelter expecting him to find a better family more fit for him. However, I had just received a call that if I don't come pick him up by this weekend they will proceed in euthanizing him. A consequence I find incredibly unfit and I am outraged that the shelter thinks this is the proper course of action. Not only that, the shelter lied on his profile when I adopted him. They NEVER listed any of his issues, that he had a bite history, or that I was his last chance at being saved. His name is Lego and he's a friendly Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix. He likes meeting people and enjoys the company of other dogs. The issue is that inside a house he becomes possessive of people that are on furniture or petting him. He will try to protect one person from another. How I see it is something that he can be taught and worked with. He has behavioral issues, but I've seen dogs with worse, he just needs training. Someone please help me save him.
