About Mischa

Adoption Fee: $500
Great Pyrenees / Golden Retriever
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Dog Name:%A0 Mischa Approx: 4 years old Good with dogs?%A0 Plays well with other dogs, fed separately as we're working on some food aggression. Good with kids?%A0 No exposure to kids in our home. However, she is a big, springy girl, so likely best in a home with older kids.%A0 Good with cats?%A0 No exposure to cats in our home.%A0 Good with other pets?%A0 Not good with chickens.%A0 Has experience on a leash?%A0 Yes, she does pretty well. Will need to continue working on this. '܉'܉'܉'܉'܉'܉'She sleeps and unwinds in her crate. If she has really settled down, she prefers not to be disturbed in her safe space. She is unrestricted in the home with the other dogs. No issues with chewing or destructive habits.%A0 Mischa is a sweet, smart girl. She can be a little stubborn at times, we think that's the Pyrenees in her. She velcros herself to any human who she decides is a friend, loves to cuddle, and romps so well with our other two young dogs. She always has a smile on her face.%A0 What does the dog's ideal home look like? Mischa would like a home with consistent human companionship. Ideally, where someone is home much of the time.%A0 Alternately, she could probably do equally well in a home where her humans are home less often as long as when they are home they are very engaged with her. She loves walks and would probably be a great hiking buddy, though her recall has not been tested off leash.%A0 When she wants your attention, she may 'throw paws' (a Pyrenees trait for sure) or stand up on her back legs and put her paws on your shoulders. She's a big girl and doesn't realize just how big she is. We've been working on reframing these behaviors into skills/commands rather than spontaneous requests for attention (which can really bowl you over). She does have some resource guarding issues as well. She has made a lot of improvement with food guarding, but still guards random acquisitions such as toilet paper tubes, dirty socks, etc. She will need someone dedicated and excited about continuing her training.%A0 www.northwestwagrescue.org Adoption fee: $500
