1.) Butch is dog selective. He is a medium energy dog. 1 to 2 miles walks daily is all that he needs. He is non-reactive at all while on leash. 2.) Butch is not cat friendly. 3.) Butch does better with older kids. He is around a teenager and he does fantastic with him. The teenager takes him walking and rollerblading with him. Not good around small children. He doesn't like his face being touched out of the blue. 4.) Butch is fantastic on a leash. He is a great follower. He might pull here and there but with quick tug at the leash, he's back on track. He has been trained to walk on a slip leash and a gentle leader. 5.) Burch is house broken and also crate trained. 6.) Butch has not had any food aggression issues at all while he has been with us. He can get a bit possessive over a ball but training and working with him will fix that. 7.) Butch's energy is good for someone is is semi active. He does need his daily walks but he is not a long distance runner at all. He has a quick burst of energy and then he slows down. 8.) Butch has no separation anxiety. He can be left in a crate for 8 hours and he is fine. 9.) Butch is a great companion dog for someone who needs just dog. He can be a velcro dog is he is allowed to be that. He adored human affection after he has met that person through a slow introduction. He loves to play fetch with any kind of toy. He is also a great car rider. Loves to stick his nose out the window and go to Starbucks and get a puppachino. 10.) He can be dog aggressive with certain dogs. He was sent to training because of this specific issue. He does better in a home with no other dogs or animals. 11.) Butch also needs slow introductions to new people. He can be nervous when meeting strangers. But it only takes a few seconds to overcome that. He does not like to be touched in the face by a stranger. 1.) The ideal home for Butch would be one where he can be understood and his needs are met. He needs a person who will be a confident pack leader. One who gives him both direction and makes him feel protected. He likes being told what to do, it makes him feel relaxed. Someone who is well structured and disciplined. Butch was found running around a parking lot. Someone either dumped him nearby or broke loose from a yard. He had wounds on him around his body and also neck. The wound from the neck was from a heavy chain or collar. He was taken in by his previous foster. But he was toomuch for her and her current pack. Updated vaccines are needed but will be taken care of before he is adopted, he is also heartworm+ but is on monthly prevention. He is a love bug and loves to be with you at all times. He follows a person who is more assertive with him than anything else. If you're a pushover he will push his boundaries. Text messages or email is the best way to contact me to inquire about him.
