About MAX

This is MAX a very affectionate and loving, dog-friendly, elder statesman who is ~8-9yrs old and Heartworm positive. We had a medical foster for him that fell through and now we desperately need a loving foster home where Max can have a quiet environment and crate rest to complete his Heartworm treatment in the Ft Worth, Texas area. As soon Max tests negative for heartworms, ARK Charities will bring him to CT where we will find him a loving forever home. Max's treatment has already begun and it will be about 8 more weeks before he can travel. Max has had a rough start in his life and through microchip tracking, it appears he was passed around and never found someone worthy of his love and devotion...that is until he arrived as a stray in the yard of a very kind-hearted dog lover named Rasha. With the help of her friend Theresa, a plan was made to register Max at the Ft Worth shelter in case someone had lost and was looking for this good boy. Knowing the shelter is a scary environment and dogs can easily get sick, Rasha has been fostering Max safely at her home but it isn't going to work long term for Max. The other dogs in the home prefer not to share and are aggressive toward him and Max needs to be kept quiet while he undergoes the heartworm injections. Despite everything Max has endured in his life, it doesn't dampen his spirit or dim his sparkle. He is a lover of the biggest magnitude and enjoys cuddling and he is low maintenance.
