Meet Deebo! Male About 6 years Old Shepherd Mix Deebo was surrendered to a local Animal Control due to his previous owners not having the ability to care for him due to their own health issues. They loved him, but they no longer had assistance caring for him. His family tried to keep him for as long as they could, but in keeping him he suffered from significant neglect. He was matted, dirty, and had some medical issues. Because these issues were too much for Animal Control to take on, not to mention being FULL, he was slated for euthanasia. Animal Control did not want to put him down and one of the compassionate employees reached out to Safe Haven to see if we could help. He was the epitome of great intentions and utter neglect and did not deserve to be euthanized. We took him in to a temporary foster that has taken him to the vet where he has been treated for perianal fistulas that were covered by all of his matted fur. At his most recent visit, the vet said that he is healing quite nicely. He is looking for a forever family that will give him the love he deserves. He is available for our Foster to Adopt Program. This allows you to foster him through the remainder of his medical treatment while you get to know each other. When he has fully recovered, you can choose to adopt him or bring him to adoption events to find his forever family. He'd be best with a fenced in yard, he likes to explore and play ball. Older kids would be best, just because he likes to jump. He's good with kids but he doesn't know his size. He is not aggressive in any way'|Unless you count his crate. He cannot be crated because he will destroy it! He is learning manners and is starting to feel better. He really wants to cuddle! Shepherd and big dog experience a huge plus. If you know Shepherds, you know. He is goofy and dopey. He should've been named Derpy! If you are interested in Adopting or Fostering to Adopt, please apply now. Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details.
