About Goku

Adoption Fee: $150
Shiba Inu
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Goku, a 4-and-a-half-year-old male Shiba Inu, born on October 16, 2018, in Canada, who has also lived in China and France. Currently, he resides in Montreal. Goku is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We are in search of a new family for Goku, preferably a couple without young children or with older children (teenagers), a single person, or retirees. This decision comes after he unfortunately bit our 12-month-old baby. Despite this incident, Goku is a good dog with many positive qualities, though there are certain aspects that require attention and work. Here's an overview of Goku's personality and medical-behavioral issues: Resource Guarding: Goku exhibits resource guarding behavior, specifically with food and only towards animals, babies, and children. Luxating Patella: He has a mild case of a luxating patella, which causes him to occasionally lift his left hind leg when walking for extended periods on hard surfaces like asphalt. However, walking on grass is much more comfortable for him due to the cushioning it provides. Fused Toes: Goku also has fused toes, which is another reason why grassy areas are more preferable for him. Obsessive-Compulsive Behavior: He has a tendency to fixate on shadows, lights, and reflections, so it's best to avoid engaging in games that involve these stimuli with him. Territorial Behavior: Goku is protective of his home and may bark when he senses people nearby, especially if he's in an apartment building. Leash Reactivity: During walks, he may bark at other dogs. On the positive side: Obedience: Goku is generally obedient and can walk on a leash. When taken for walks in the woods, we use a long leash to give him some freedom while ensuring his safety. Independence: He is accustomed to being alone during the day and can handle independent time well. Trained Commands: Goku knows basic commands like sit, lie down, shake hands, and give kisses. The decision to part ways with Goku has been heart-wrenching, and the incident occurred in January 2023. We are sincerely looking for a family that will care for him, dedicate time and love, and be committed to working with him diligently. If you are interested in providing Goku with a loving home and are willing to invest effort in addressing his behavioral issues, please reach out to us. Your understanding, patience, and commitment will be crucial in helping Goku become the best version of himself. Thank you for considering this wonderful pup as a part of your family. %90%BE%9D%A4%8F
