About Shasta

Pretty SHASTA is a 6 month old, 35 pound mixed breed pup LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Active home and a doggie companion and a 6 foot fenced yard would be great. Shasta was found as a stray. Her finder held on to her for a few weeks hoping to find an owner but no one came forward so she asked if we could take her. We are unsure of her mix, but she is 100% sweet. Based on her current age and weight she is probably going to be a medium sized pup fully grown, about 35 pounds we think. Shasta is a super soft bundle of energy. She is friendly and greets her people happily with a waggy tail. She likes to be held sometimes, but right now she would rather play than snuggle. She is all puppy and is almost always on the go! Shasta loves to play with any furbaby that will play with her and is definitely a dog who's going to be happiest with a companion or an active family who can spend a lot of time with her. She has been around kids age 6 and up and was great with them. We have not tested her with cats. Shasta is learning about leash training and does well. She knows how to use a doggy door, and is good about going outside with a routine and positive reinforcement. Remember she is only a puppy! She needs training just like any other pup. Shasta can and will climb a lower fence (not to get away from a home but to be with her person) and needs a 6 foot privacy fenced yard. Her foster mom says she is very interested in learning new things and is easily trainable, but she wants to be where you are! She needs tons of toys as she loves to chew. She has a great appetite and finishes her meals every time. At night Shasta sleeps on a raised bed or in an open door crate. Shasta has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, is spayed, fecal tested, has been started on heartworm prevention, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. She is such a pretty girl and we know her lucky family is out there! Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
