Arf! Arf, everyone! I'm Sasha, a super-sweet, gentle, loving, and well-behaved 50-pound German Shepherd gal who was born in January 2021. I love to cuddle and play with all ages of hoomans, including babies, and small dogs. I'm a cheerful lass who likes to greet my foster mom with my paw. Learning a few basic commands like 'sit' and 'down' as well as leash-walking was a snap because I'm so smart and easily trained. Actually, this makes perfect sense because German Shepherd dogs are renowned for our high intelligence, uncanny faithfulness, and noble character. We can be gentle family pets who easily learn commands. We can also be steadfast guardians who are willing to put our life on the line in defense of loved ones. No wonder we're truly a dog-lover's delight and rank at the front of canine royalty for being loyal, confident, courageous, and steady. German Shepherd Dogs make great house dogs, and I'm somewhat of a couch potato in that I can sleep on the sofa for hours on end. Nevertheless, I'll need regular daily exercise for my physical and mental well-being. My past life has not been a bowl of cherries. My future foster family first spotted my zig-zagging in and out of honking cars during a winter rainstorm. To make matters worse, I was limping because I'd injured my paw. Perhaps I'd been dumped because I'd gotten pregnant. My teats were swollen as if I'd been nursing pups, but my pups were never found. It took my foster family's persistence to pursue catching me over two days because I was very adept at hiding and crawling into tight spots. It was obvious to them that I'd been abused in the past because I was extremely timid and submissive. Once I was rescued, however, it's amazing how resilient I became after realizing that I was safe and that my caretakers loved me. My only holdover from my past life on the streets is that I can be assertive with big dogs. This makes sense because so often I'd had to defend my puppies and my un-spayed self from large intact male dogs. My sweet foster family has asked Miss Donna to find me a loving family who will give me the attention and full, rich life that a sweet, gentle gal like me is entitled to. Like a typical German Shepherd Dog, I'm dreaming about being right in the center of all my new family's activities, including Frisbee-catching. Could that be with you? Sasha is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250 for dogs older than 9 months. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
