About Finley

Meet sweet Finley, a handsome 8-10 year old, 6 pound Yorkie boy is being fostered in Georgetown, TX. Applicants must reside within the state of Texas. Hello Everyone -- Finley's foster Mom here with an update on our favorite pup! Finley is doing great with the therapy the vet has him on for his heart condition and his cough! He's active and runs around like a young guy, even though he is a senior. His cough is very sparse in nature, only happens when he gets too excited or first waking up -- that is such a HUGE improvement from when I first started fostering him! I believe that Finley is a Morkie, a cross between a Yorkie and a Maltese. He has the yorkie coloring, soft coat, facial features, temperament, with the Maltese floppy ears and long tail. Just a very handsome guy! He gets along well with the yorkie pack I have and I believe any other small dogs. He would not be good with big dogs or small children. Even though he has no teeth, he will growl and snap as they scare him. He is both leash trained and house trained. While I've been fostering him, he has learned how to use a doggie door -- he is very smart indeed! He wants to be in the same room with his human. He loves his cuddles and pets -- but only for a short time, doesn't want to be held and snuggled the entire evening. He likes to sleep in the big bed with all the other yorkies, but is also happy to sleep in a comfortable bed in the same room -- really easy going! Finley's heart condition does mean that he will need to be on medication therapy for the rest of his life, but with the proper therapy he has quite a long and loving life left in him! He'll make an excellent companion for that special family!
