About Marilyn

LOCATION: Omaha, Nebraska DOB: 01/01/2018 Marilyn, a stunning harlequin Great Dane, has been waiting far too long to find her forever home. Despite numerous inquiries, this lovely girl is still searching for the perfect match. She would thrive as the only dog in the home. However, for an experienced adopter who understands the importance of slow introductions, exceptions might be considered. Full of energy, she doesn't act her age. She loves to cuddle and adores her toys, especially squeaky ones. With her big brown eyes and loving gaze, it's hard not to fall in love with that face. She's a smaller-sized Dane, making it a little easier to work with her. She still thinks she's a lap dog, and compared to larger Danes, she kind of is. She does great in the car and keeps improving in meeting people in public. She prefers women over men but is warming up more with each new interaction. She responds best to structure and is crate trained, although she has done excellently free roaming overnight and for short periods. Marilyn has worked incredibly hard to learn canine social skills. She's been thriving in daycare, but all dog interactions need to be closely monitored. While we prefer a no-dog home so she can be the star of the show, considerations could be made for the right adopter. This girl is not a fan of felines and requires a home with no cats - no exceptions. She has so many positive skills to tout. She's great on leash and knows commands like 'come,' 'sit,' 'down,' 'place,' and excels in loose leash walking. She's been working hard to build her confidence in meeting strangers and is making great progress. She is 100% potty trained and will stand near the door or pace to communicate her need to go out. She loves being rewarded for getting in her crate and enjoys treats like apples, bananas, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, chicken feet, yak chews, and tracheas. Continued training will be imperative to her success, so she needs a home that will keep up with her training regimen.
