About SNICKERS IS TRAINED

TIC TOCK 1,065 DAYS IN THE KENNEL -TIC TOC- WAITING FOR MY LIFE TO BEGIN SNICKERS LAYS IN HER KENNEL, JUST WAITING FOR HER TURN Time goes so slowly as I lay here alone in my kennel. I hear the steady beat of the clock and my life ticks on by. The people are nice enough, but it's been three years since the lady brought me here. She got me just in the nick of time. They were going to kill me at that horrible shelter. I was skin and bones, with thin hair, sores and scars from bite marks but worst of all, nobody wanted me. Then the lady came. I'll never forget it. She talked to me in a low, calm voice. I leaned against her to let her know I needed her. Then she let me crawl up in her lap and she took my whole body in her arms. She said 'everything will be alright.' I let that echo in my little black ears. No one ever told me that before. Then she put me in her car and brought me here. I wasn't sure at first but everything was alright. They talked to me sweetly like they really cared. They healed my wounds and gave me lots of good food. I even made a good friend, they call the 'trainer'. He teaches me stuff and gives me lots of treats. He says I'm very smart. One of his best students. But even now, that I'm fully trained, nobody seems to want me. It could be because I'm not really friendly with other dogs. I don't hate them or anything, but because I've gotten beat up by so many dogs in the past, I just don't trust them and don't want to engage with any. I'm more of a people person and I do like cats. It's not easy to figure out but it may be as simple as I'm just another black pit bull without any special markings or a beautiful face. Yes, I'm ordinary but I have an extraordinary love to give someone who will give me a chance. Imagine going your whole life and never be somebody's special someone. It can really get to a gal. Im only 5 but It seems like I've been here an eternity and I have to tell you, it's broken my spirit and my heart. The only thing that keeps me going is when I see others leave. It gives me a glimmer of hope that maybe I'll be next. Nexttime I'll be the one to get a bath and walk the proud walk. I'll be the one to be going to a home. It'll be me that somebody is finally gonna love, It's me that somebody finally chose. Me, The ordinary, little black pitbull with the Extraordinary heart.
