About Pete

Pete has managed to perfectly blend the typical regal German Shepherd look with a splash of silly�'�|mostly just by sticking his tongue out! He sure is handsome! Pete probably had an owner at some point as he came in already knowing how to sit on command. He also definitely knows what a leash is for - he'll come from across the play yard when he sees you pick it up! He walks great on leash without pulling. He's always ready to go on a walk! Going back into his kennel, however, is another story! He's a curious boy who likes to investigate all the sights and smells. It's very fun for him and he's happy to spend lots of time doing so. He makes his own fun! Pete likes to be pet, but he doesn't want that to cut into this investigative duties. He's also happy to chase after toys when you throw them, but he won't pick them up. He has an average energy level. He loves treats and will happily sit on command for one. He's treat motivated, and seems smart enough to pick up more commands quickly. Pete is a 2YO German Shepherd who came into the shelter as a stray on 4/26/23. He weighs 60 lbs.
