About Pixie

Adoption Fee: $120
German Shepherd mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Meet adoptable Pixie! Pixie and her sisters Grits and Oatmeal came into the shelter in mid June. Unfortunately, their owner was unable to keep them put up so now they are in urgent need of a new home where they can be kept up properly. Pixie is a laid-back dog who just needs a home with a bed for her to lay in all day. She is very independent and sticks to herself most of the time here at the shelter but does enjoy the company of other dogs too! Pixie is gentle with all of her human friends and has never been known to even jump up on anyone. As far as weird quirks go, Pixie hates baths and would rather smell like wet dog all day than stand a single second in a bathtub. She also cannot live with goats or sheep because she has a past of tormenting them with her past family. Other than that, Pixie is as good as they come and would love a place on your couch! Pixie is an 8-month-old shepherd mix who weighs 34.5 pounds, we believe once she gets some groceries in her, she will weigh around 40 pounds. Pixie has been vaccinated, treated for fleas/ticks and has tested negative for heartworm disease, but is positive for ehrlichia which is a tickborne illness. This is something that is easily cleared up with medication. Located at the Brownsville Haywood County Animal Shelter in Brownsville, Tennessee. The adoption fee is $60 with a $60 vet fee to be paid on the day of spay/neuter at Bells Animal Clinic. Alternatively, adopters can have spay/neuter completed at their vet, at their vet's cost. Spay/neuter is required within 30 days of adoption. We have no pull fee and can help arrange transport for local 501c3 rescue groups.
