CHARLIE: Shelter ID #A4879204-- URGENT!!! To be EUTHANIZED close of business 6/22!!! -- Hi! I'm Charlie! I'm a 4 year old 98 pound German Shepherd. I was initially found in May tied up to a fire station near 92nd Ave & Van Buren. My outdated microchip says I was once named Charlie. I came into the shelter very happy and friendly with a loose wiggly body, would lean in for pets and soak up all the attention I could get. Sounds like I was a staff favorite! I took treats gently, would lay my head in handlers' laps, but was never a huge fan of my cold, lonely kennel. I was adopted for a week at the end of May, but the family kept me outside at all times, never allowed in the house, which was hard for me in the AZ heat. They said a 16 year old niece came over to meet me and I nipped her on the arm. I was the sweetest boy at the shelter, so maybe I was just very stressed being confined in a kennel in the backyard and met a bunch of extended family before I had time to decompress and get used to my new surroundings. I've been through so much! Back at the shelter I hadn't been taken on a walk since June 8! I finally went on one today 6/21 and had so much fun in a play pool! I ran and went on a field trip through the shelter (oops) but I visited a bunch of kennels to see other doggies and was non-reactive to them! Just wanted to say hi!
