Where to start. This guy is so sweet. We found him next to a convenience store scrounging for food. He was in rough shape - hungry, thirsty, covered with fleas/ticks, old and new injuries - he was just a pile of dog on the sidewalk. So we couldnt leave him and took him to our vet. She thinks he is about 2. He tested negative for heartworm (YEAH) but had sores on his paw pads (burned from the blacktop), ticks all over him and an ulcerated eye. He is at my house quarantining (I have 3 other rescue dogs), but is getting better everyday. He smiles now when you talk to him. He has a little skip in his step when he goes for walks. He is just the sweetest puppers giving kisses as you scratch his belly. We are calling him Truman Burger, and he is a love. Recently, on a walk he got off leash (operator error) and started thrashing deer out of the woods next to our house. He was having the time of his life and has great instincts for hunting. He would be the best guy for a family, a hunter, an elderly single person or another doggie-do. He does great on a leash and doesn't pull at all. He seems completely house broken as he won't relieve himself until he is outside. I really need to find him a great home, because I already have 3 dogs. Thank you for reading Burger's story.
