About Babou

***LOVE BUG ALERT!!! THIS GUY IS A CUDDLER!!!*** Babou is a GORGEOUS brown spotted Bengal/Cheetoh cat. He is an 8-year snuggle-monster and his favorite thing in the world is to spend lap time with his person and purr his little Bengal heart out - a truly gentle soul who craves attention. Unlike many of his fellow Bengals, Babou isn't an overly high-energy boy. While he will vocalize to get your attention or if he's lonesome for company, he doesn't really do it often. He's been described as an almost 'entry-level Bengal' for those who may be interested in having a Bengal family member for the first time or may just be interested in a less demanding Bengal companion. Babou was adopted as a 12-week-old kitten by his owner, shortly after she graduated from college. They have been together for eight years during which she has moved six times and has been developing her career as a professional photographer. Her career has taken off and now requires a lot of travel and work away from home. She and Babou are very bonded, but the increasing separations have caused him great stress and separation anxiety. The owner's grandmother has been caring for him since the end of January 2023 and she absolutely loves him (it's mutual!). But there are other cats in the home and he was not easily getting along with them (but the story changed after spending months there - he's now made friends with the resident orange and white male DSH tabby cat). Given the fact that he has only one feline friend, and there are three other present - he does have to be carefully managed so that he is content as well as the rest of the feline population. His caretaker knows he would do so much better if he had full access to the run of the home. Babou is a very friendly, out-going and affectionate boy who craves human companionship. He would be happiest being the only pet or with a cat-friendly dog or cat-friendly cat. He has not lived with children so only older children would be appropriate. He hates to be alone so he's seeking a home where his person and/or people are perhaps retired, or work from home and can spends lots of time with him in a low stress environment - he'll happily sit with you while you read, watch a movie or just focus on him, maybe brushing him (which he adores) and telling him how handsome he is and how much he is loved. Babou eats a variety of canned food: Nulo pate, Wellness Core, Purina Pro Plan Complete Essentials (Chicken and Salmon) and he likes kitten canned food! The wet food is mixed with crumbled freeze-dried chicken which he adores. He has dry kibble available but he isn't really a kibble guy. He also doesn't have any interest in human food. He has, however, discovered Temptations cat treats and loves to have some tossed on the floor where he can hunt for them and then happily chomp them down. -Babou loves to be snuggled and ADORES lap time. He is the happiest when he is sitting with his person, sharing quality time. - He loves being on top of his cat tree watching birds. - He loves being brushed. - He especially enjoys cat-nip toys and silver vine sticks and will work for short periods on cat puzzles that earn him treats. He also enjoys wand toys. He gets bored easily though so his attention span can be short when playing. - He hates being confined and wants to be wherever his humans are. Babou is good company and is a much happier boy now that he has his meds that are addressing his FLUTD. He is healthy otherwise and up-to-date on his vaccines. He is a wonderful boy with so much love to give to someone looking for an intelligent, playful and loving companion who has the time to spend with him that he so craves. This is a hard decision and his family dearly wants Babou to have a wonderful home, that will provide him with all of the love he needs and deserves. Babou is neutered, has been vaccinated, and his owners have provided him with excellent medical care.
