About T-Kitty

Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Hi! I'm T-Kitty! I am a newer resident here at Desert Haven and you know what? I am not at all ashamed to say that it took me a good few weeks to get settled in and relaxed. Here is why: I lived my first year of life (I am only one year old) with my loving owner and got all the petsies I wanted. But then she moved and didn't take me along. Oof, that stung. But before moving, she found a safe place for me to live: Desert Haven. The volunteers at Desert Haven agreed to take good care of me while they searched for a new family for me. I said, 'I love you so much, Momma.' then she drove away. I must say, moving to Desert Haven felt overwhelming for me at first. There was so much to take in: the new smells, the new sights, meeting new cat friends, an influx of volunteers in and out of our space each day to talk to us and cuddle with those of us that are ready. In my first few weeks living here I stayed up on a high ledge and watched the goings-on around the Cool Cat Neighborhood here at Desert Haven where I am living now with many other cats and kittens. I wasn't quite ready at first to take in the cuddling from the volunteers. But, I'm very very pleased to say, I am finally feeling settled! The other day, while one of my favorite volunteers was visiting, she got up on the stool to pet me, as she does when I'm lounging high up on the ledge. She petted me for a long time as usual and I loved it so much. I said to myself, 'T-Kitty, it's time. It's time to take the plunge and step down off this ledge of insecurity and put yourself back in the game! Who is going to want to adopt you if you're hiding up here all the time!' And at that very minute I decided to give love another chance. I hopped down off the ledge and I followed that volunteer around to show her I was ready to be listed for adoption. I'm really glad I did!! She was so happy! She took a little video of me loving her gentle touch, a video of me purring loudly, and a video of me rolling around near her in delight. She sent the videos to all of the other Desert Haven volunteers and with glee and relief she said to them, 'Look at T-Kitty! He's decided to let us into his life!' And she took these photos of me. I think I look pretty cute. What do you think? Do you think you have room in your home and heart for me, a loving and very affectionate young boy who needs a new family? Love, T-Kitty
