About Freckles

Sprinkle some sunshine into your life with Freckles! Sweet, gentle Freckles wants nothing more than to be your constant companion, taking easy walks, lounging with you on the couch, or resting nearby while you work. Her primary desire is to love on you and be loved in return. Rescued from a Georgia shelter, this 12-lb. rat terrier is estimated to be 8-9 years old, and she likes things to be low-key. On walks, she never pulls on her leash or barks at passers-by. She loves car rides and never gets carsick, so she would make an excellent travel buddy. She'll even keep you company when you're doing yard work, but frankly her favorite thing is just to be indoors next to you. Freckles is friendly with the cats she encounters during her walks, and she's also good with other dogs but not overly interested in canine companionship; she much prefers humans. She very likely was an only dog who lived with someone who was home all the time because she becomes quite anxious when left alone for more than a few hours. She's also easily overwhelmed by the noise and energy of little kids and is best suited for a home without young children. Freckles is house-trained, but as with many dogs, it may take her several weeks to acclimate to her new home and schedule, so she should have frequent potty breaks until she gets settled int. She takes her meals in her crate, so she's quite comfortable staying there, if you need to go out for brief periods. For a quiet household needing a furry friend, Freckles is one fantastic find!
