About Pebbles

PEBBLES is an 18 month old, 7.48 pound Dachshund Chihuahua mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: A good home. HIGHLIGHTS: Affectionate lap dog! Pebbles is a sweet little girl with fabulous ears who is lucky to be alive. Her 'owners' moved and left her behind in the house without food and water for God knows how long. When she was found she was starving, dehydrated and anemic from fleas. It was touch and go for a few days, but she pulled through and has started to enjoy life! She has some hair loss on her back from the fleas, but she is getting medicated baths a couple times a week and the hair is starting to grow back. She is still a very hungry little girl who eats like she doesn't know where her next meal is coming from, but her ribs are no longer showing. Pebbles is a very sweet, affectionate little girl who loves to be cuddled and brushed and is so happy to be loved on. She is beginning to play with the other dogs in her foster home and also with toys. We have not had her around cats or kids and have no idea how she would be with either. Because she has not been around kids, any children in her home should be 7 and up and be familiar with small dogs. Her foster mom says she's 95% housebroken, has learned how to use a doggie door and has also used a potty pad. She does need work walking on a leash. Pebbles sleeps in the big bed and enjoys burrowing under the blankets next to her person. She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Her spay will be scheduled at one of our vets soon and is covered by the rescue. Pebbles will be a delightful little companion for someone lucky person! Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit.
